How to choose your size in an oversized hoodie

Oversized pieces are built bigger on purpose, so your usual size may not be the right one. Here is a quick way to choose.

Step 1: Measure something you already own

Lay a hoodie or tee you like flat. Measure across the chest from armpit to armpit, then double it. That is the "bust" number on a size chart. Measure the sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff.

Step 2: Read the size chart for the full circumference

Our size charts list centre back length, shoulder width, bust, rib hem, sleeve length and cuff width, in centimetres, taken flat. Compare your measurements to the chart rather than to the letter on the label. Tolerance is about 2 cm.

Step 3: Decide how loose you want it

  • True to the cut: pick the size closest to your own measurements.
  • A little more room: go one size up.
  • Our oversized hoodie is designed with a widened chest and dropped shoulders, so most people find their usual size already gives the intended shape.

Step 4: Check the shoulder and sleeve

On a dropped-shoulder piece, the seam should sit below your natural shoulder. If the sleeve covers your knuckles more than you like, go down a size.

Step 5: Use our returns if it is not right

Unworn items with tags can be returned within 14 days of delivery.

Every LYU product page has a size guide link under the size selector that takes you straight to the chart.
